The NVIDIA .run file needs:
update-initramfs
but it has been renamed to:
update-initramfs.orig.initramfs-tools

So creating a softlink should take care of it. in terminal type :

Quote:
sudo su

then

ln -s /usr/sbin/update-initramfs.orig.initramfs-tools /usr/sbin//usr/sbin/update-initramfs

then

update-initramfs

Now just run the file install of nvidia drivers.

I did the whole thing rather clumsily since I forgot how to kill the X-server & had to reboot with 'single' added to the kernel line.

The simple update of "mintdrivers" didn't do it for me.

But the "manual way" involved too much copy & paste so I just did the straight nvidia...run install after installing the linux-headers
